Boyne Suspension Bridge – Spans the River Boyne near the “Battle of the Boyne” historic site. This battle took place in July 1690 between the forces of King William III (William of Orange) and King James II.
Carlingford Castle a.k.a. King John’s Castle, as it is believed he stayed there for a few days sometime in the year 1210.
On our way home from Carlingford, we came across this roadside sculpture representation of An Táin Bó, (The Brown Bull of Cooley) which is part of the Irish legend – “Queen Maeve and The Cattle Raid of Cooley”.
